I have been offered Rudi Johnson and Torry Holt for Steven Alexander. Should I bite? Yes.. IF Holt is a significant upgrade for you at WR. Without knowing your other wideouts, we cant say for sure. But we lean YES.
Our league counts losses and I am doing good in that category. However, I need K's and I'm thinking about starting some extra guys to make up K's, but worry about the losses. Not worth going after K's, if it will potentially costs you ERA, WHIP and losses. Thats crazy talk.
I am playing for next year. We can only keep one starting pitcher. I have 2 good ones, Webb and Santana and have no keeper bats and wish to trade one for a bat. Who do I keep? Keep Santana. Webb is still a B level pitcher in our minds.
I was offered Andruw Jones for Orlando Cabrera, but I am middle of the pack in SB's? What to do? If Jones can gain you 4 points in RBI's, and Home runs, make the move. Otherwise, stick with Orlando.
I can get Shawn Green for JD Drew. Yes/No? Bah. Either way. wont make much of a difference. The trade is not worth the effort.
I have had just about enough of Sexson. What would be fair value? At this point, a number #2 starter or perhaps you can get a guy with strong batting average from a team desperate for dingers.
Should I trade for Clemens? I would have to give up Damon. Damon is having a good year. On pace for 100 RBI's, 32 SB, .300 AVG and 22 Home runs. Stick with Damon.

Guys, I ignored your advive and didn't move Webb 3 weeks ago. He has gone in the tank since. I still have some takers, but the best offer right now is David Wright. What do I do?

The entire D-Backs team has been in a slump since the Jason Grimsley thing broke. You missed the boat on selling Webb high. At this point, Wright isnt a bad option. Go for it.

I am getting lots of offers for Ordonez. Should I move him now? The best option seems to be Andruw Jones

-Peter

Yes. It you can get Jones, grab it.

I can get Giambi for Harang. Should I take it?

-Henry F.

Wow, thats a tough call. Yes. Take it. The Reds tend to fade after the all-star break.

I have Peavy and Hallady and need hitting bad. Which one should I move?

-BW

boy, is there a third choice? Thats tough, but we lean towards keeping Peavy because Halladay's health always scares us a little.
Does Benitez have any value as a closer? He is a FA in our league. Sure he does. Worrell did not pitch great. SF wants Benitez to succeed. He will be given every oppotunity to do so.
You were punking on the White Sox before the season started. What do you have to say now! We say their division sucks. However, Thome has been a surprise. We still think he will fade though. He already has started to.

Harang from Cincy is off to a great start. Can he keep it up or should I trade him now?

-Reds Fan

Trade him. You got great numbers from him. History tells us he will fade. If he ends up being a stud all year, more power to him. But just get value in return.

I got a guy who wants Thome bad. He is offering Jake Peavy. What to do, what to do??

-Brian

Take the deal. Peavy is a stud. Thome is benefiting from the bad early season pitching.

What do you guys think about a trade where I would get ichiro Suzuki for Andruw Jones?

Travis

Interesting deal. Early in the season, we usually favor power over speed and or average.

Its harder to find power later on than it is the other categories.

Stick with Jones.

Good Luck this season!
How do you feel about this roster?

C-Joe Mauer
1B-Albert Pujols
2B-Jeff Kent
3B-Chipper Jones
SS-Miguel Tejada
OF-Vladimir Guerrero
OF-Andruw Jones
OF-Manny Ramirez
Utility-Mark Texiera
BENCH-Julio Lugo
BENCH-Scott Podsednik

I worked a lot of trades, and i am wondering what needs help,

thanks , Ken
are you serious? what kind of competition do you have that they let you compile such a list of all-stars?

that is ridiculous. they might as well give you the trophy now.
What do you think of Milton Bradly with the A's? Worth a pick? Yes. He is a viable option as a 3rd outfielder. The guy gots skills if he can stay healthy and keep his head on straight.

I am in a fantasy baseball keeper leauge where we keep three offinsive player and two pitchers.I need a little help adivise on who to keep.

Offence

1. Alex Rodriguez
2. Manny Ramirez
3. Derrek Lee
4. Carl Craford
5. David Wright

Pitchers

1. Johan Santana
2. Roy Oswalt
3. Felix Hernandez

I need to keep three offinsive players and two pitchers can you please help?

-Eric

First off, congrats on having such a great crop of keepers to choose from.

Bats:

Arod - automatic. Gotta keep him
Manny - automatic. Don't let all the negative publicity he got in the off season get in the way. The guy is simply a great hitter.

Here is where it gets tough. The 3 that are left are top 40 guys in any league. But we think you should keep Lee. His numbers last year are so impressive that if you dont keep him, he will go really high. The other two, you can put back out there and still have a chance to pick up in the draft.

For the pitchers... yeah we know Felix is getting all kinds of buzz about his stuff being so "nasty", but the other 2 guys are automatic assuming they are healthy. We don't know when you have to decide, but we always say wait as long as you can before making a decision on a keeper pitcher. Especially with the World Baseball thing going on. Injuires could crop up.

I recently had my draft and have G.Atkins at 3B, should I leave him there or bench him and move C.Figgins from 2B to 3B and play J.Vidro at 2B ?

-Mike

We had some mixed opinions here, but a slight lean towards not playing Vidro and giving the young Rockie a chance. You know what you get with Vidro. 10-15 HR's and about 60-70 RBIs. Atkins has much more potential.

OGP. Who is over-hyped going into 2006. Who should I not overpay for?

-Tank

Well.. we think Konerko will be overpriced. Jeff Kent should have a big fall off this year. Chris Carpenter scares us. Jason Bay plays on such a lousy team....can he keep his head up??
^Welcome to 2006^
^Welcome to 2006^

I can get Chipper for Zach Duke. One more bat could put me over the top.

-Peter

Make the deal. Duke plays on a horrible team. Now is the time to deal him, unless you can keep him for next season.
Manny and Floyd for Vlad and Unit? Yes. Manny tens to fade down the stretch. Unless Unit shows signs of back problems during his next start, it sounds like a good deal.

Power or Average, what is more important?

-Bobby

Power or Avg? Early in the season, you got to have power because if you dont' you are in trouble in both Home Runs and RBI's.

But in our league, we have categories that make avg and power equally important. For example, we count strikeouts by batters against you. Power hitters tend to strike out a lot. Helps even out the playing field.

Okay. The seaon is in the dog days and my bats ae hurting. I have Willis. Should I trade him for straight up for Abreu? Yes. as much as we love Dontrelle something tells us he will fade after the all-star break.
I was offered Sexson for Damon. I need power, but steals as well. If you are sitting pretty in batting average, make the deal. Otherwise stick with Damon.
I need pitching. I was offered Lieber for Mora. Should I bite? Lieber has shown signs of picking up his strikeout totals. If he keeps that going his next start, make the deal.
I can get Chipper Jones for either Josh Beckett or Jason Schmidt. Who should I take? At this point, it has to be Beckett. Schmidt looks weak and his fastball is not so fast.

I was offered Dontrelle Willis for Johan Santana. Willis looks awesome so far. Should I bite?

-Tyson

Willis has been streaky in his career. He has stretches like this where nobody can touch him, then he starts serving beach balls again. Stick with Johan.

Matsui for Ordonez and Lowe?

-Brad

Hmmmm. Tough one. We say stick with Matsui. Hunch is that he is going to have a huge year. Mags is just too iffy right now.
Should I trade Tim Hudson & Larry Walker for Brad Radke & Steve Finley? No. Hudson on the Braves with that great pitching coach. Keep him. Everyone else is that trade is not worth much at all.
I was just offered an off-season deal. The right Randy Johnson for the rights to Carlos Beltran Wow! 2 guys who could both end up on the Yankees. Beltran is way too valuable. Don't give him up even for the Big Unit
I got toasted this year in Strikeouts despite having a very good ERA. Any advice for next draft? Strikeouts are much harder to come by on the free agent wire. You are better off drafting strikeout pitchers, then looking for wins and era on the free agent wire.
Hi! In my fantasy baseball league one of my friends placed Kevin Brown who is on the DL on waviers. Should I pick Kevin up or what should I do? Brown hasn't been that good this year. The only team he can beat is Tampa Bay. Not worth it.
In my league I was offered Carlos Delgado for David Ortiz. Ortiz has had a great year and Delgado has been injured but is back now and has the potential to have a great 2nd half. Should I do the trade or ask for someone else along with delgado ,or just not trade Ortiz? Stick with Ortiz. lean towards the guy on the better team.

Is Todd helton for scott rolen and andruw jones a fair deal?

-Adam

Yes. Rolen is looking like the NL MVP right now.

Who are some of your fantasy baseball sleepers who are pitchers that know one knows about

Casey

In the age of the internet, anybody who can sort statistics can find some something. We really don't buy into the "sleeper" mentality too much.

As far as guys with "potential" who may finally be living up to it: Keep an eye on Kris Benson and Ben Sheets. If they are availabe, they may be worth a pickup.

would you do a i get ted lilly for jeromy burnitz

Dave

Yes.

Ted Lilly's are a dime a dozen. Power hitters in Coors field aren't.

I was offered A-Rod-SS, Lorretta-2B, Gerut-OF, Donnelly-RP, & Hampton-SP for Sosa-OF, Zito-SP, & Beckett-SP. They might not be too well known but they have good #'s. I don't have a good SS and 2B could use help. What do you think? Basically, you are trading a #1 overall guy for a first round guy and 2 second/third round guys.

That price seems a little high to us, even for Arod.

I have a very strong team and dont know what to do with this trade chris ritsma for arthur rhodes im getting ritsma would you accept this if you getting ritsma?

- Derek

As of now, Rhodes has a better chance of getting you saves then Reitsma. Unless you have a hunch Reitsma will replace Graves as the #1 closer, we would stick with Rhodes.

OGP,

I just missed out on first place last year because of my crappy steals. I vow to not et that happen again. Other than the obvious guys, any sleepers here?

Don't fret about steals. Whatever you do, don't build any kind of draft strategy around them. Just hope for the best. I'm sure it stings to lose because of that category, but if you were great in steals, our hunch is that is would have hurt you big time in the other categories. Sleepers? Tike Redman for the Buccos might be worth a shot if he gets the nod in center field.

OGP,

It's already time to start thinking about 2004. Of these 2 guys, I can only keep one: Frank Thomas or Jim Edmonds. What do you think?

- Desperate Already

Snap. That's a tough one and spring training hasn't even started yet. Right now, we leans towrds Edmonds even though is is brittle. But seriously, you need to keep an eye on how they do in the spring. Look for any red flags you can regarding the health of either of them.

OGP,

Now that Benitez is with the Yankees, is he worth having at all?

Well, if your league uses Holds, which every league should, his value probably just increased. Having the top setup guy on a team like the Yanks is like having gold. If you don't use Holds, dump him.
