| Why
don't pitchers get charged with an earned run when they make the error
that leads to the run? Greg Maddux can throw a ball to the warning
track and allow a guy to score on double, but he doesn't get charge
with the run?!? Wacky, Stupid Rule! |
Small
Markets and Perfection |
It's
a load of crap when people argue that the small market teams can
compete when they "spend wisely". Whooped-de-doo!! So
in other words, if a team like the Brewers or Pirates make no mistakes,
have some prospects pan out, get very lucky with no injuries, and
have some career scrubs have a great year......just maybe they can
sneak into the playoffs. Well thats just super swell. Then the next
year they lose all their decent players to the dig dog Yanks, Sox,
Mets, etc. Which means the fans get their hearts torn out,AGAIN,
and the team needs to start over and wait another 5-10 years before
they have a chance of having everything come together again. Meanwhile,
the big dogs spend, spend and spend and compete every year. BLAH!
Baseball
will be king again when all teams are on a level playing field.

Hall
of Fame Better Watch Out |
| If
Pete Rose is getting slammed for gambling, what is going to happen
in 10 years when all these steroid laced freaks become eligible for
the hall of fame? Will they turn their heads and welcome Barry Bonds
with open arms? Or maybe they will put a big bronze asterisk on his
plaque. What they have done with Pete Rose has set the precedence
for the shunning of players in the future. Considering all these big
numbers players are putting up are due to the juice, who will still
be eligible for the hall of fame down the road? If you diss Rose,
you need to diss those on the juice. |
Retroactive
DL is Bogus |

is something we hate. Making a players DL stint retroactive. The
teams should be forced to s**t or get off the pot with an injury.
Instead, they can wait and see what happens for 10 days, and then
decide to put a player on the 15 day DL. But that player is really
only on a 5 day DL at that point because its retroactive.
We
think if a team wants to wait and see, that's fine, but once the
DL decision is made it should start from the day it's made, not
the last game the player played in.
